Hi, I'm Kate
ARTIST | EDUCATOR | CREATOR OF SPLAT ART CLUB
For over 20 years, I've had the joy of teaching art to children, families, and adults. Along the way, I've learned that creativity has a beautiful way of bringing people together, building confidence, and filling everyday life with a little more joy.
For me, teaching has always been about so much more than art. It's about creating a space where people feel welcome, encouraged, and free to explore their creativity. Watching confidence grow, laughter fill the room, and someone discover the joy of creating is something I'll never take for granted.
Even after all these years, I still consider myself a full-time student. Art is endless, and I love that there's always something new to learn, explore, and be inspired by.
That's why I created Splat Art Club-a welcoming creative community where we can paint, explore new ideas, embrace imperfections, and simply enjoy making something beautiful together.
I truly believe creativity is a gift. Over the years, it's taught me that hope grows when we create, joy is often found in the simplest moments, and our imperfections are what make each creation beautifully our own.
And after nearly 20 years of teaching, my greatest joy is still watching someone surprise themselves with what they can create. There's nothing quite like seeing that moment when doubt turns into confidence and creativity begins to shine.
My Why
I believe creativity is one of life's greatest gifts.
It's more than something I do, it's part of who I am. It's in my thoughts, my dreams, and the way I move through the world. I find inspiration everywhere, and even after all these years, that spark has never faded. If anything, it grows stronger with every new idea.
Creativity has taught me patience, built my confidence, filled my life with joy, and reminded me that imperfection is often where the magic begins.
My Heart
My hope is that every class feels like we're creating together around the same table.
You'll never find pressure to be perfect here, only gentle encouragement to explore, trust the process, celebrate the wonky, and discover the joy of creating.
Because to me, art has never been about perfection. It's about slowing down, making space for creativity, and finding a little more hope and joy, and finding beauty in the process.
My Dream
My dream is for Splat Art Club to become more than a place to learn art.
My hope is that it becomes a place where creativity brings people together, where joy is shared freely, and where every project reminds us that we're all capable of creating something beautiful. A place you return to for inspiration, encouragement, and the simple happiness of making something with your own hands.

my artistic journey comes to life.
My work is inspired by joy, hope, connection, and the beauty found in imperfect moments. Through layered color, rich texture, and expressive mark-making,
I create original artwork that celebrates love, resilience,
and the stories that make each of us unique.
Whether I'm creating an abstract heart, a meaningful commission, or a collection inspired by life's everyday moments, my hope is always the same, to create artwork that brings light, starts conversations, and reminds people that beauty can be found even in life's imperfect layers.
Every piece is created by hand in my Connecticut studio and made with gratitude, heart, and the belief that art has the power to
brighten a home and encourage the soul.
